I've been doing a lot of babysitting, and having fun doing it. Here is a pick of Sparky with one of my charges - she is such a comfort to the little ones, especially if they are shy.
I'm continuing with my painting. Here's the latest - it's a copy of someones else's work, but I loved the colors and sunflowers. This one is definitely going on my wall. My teacher encouraged me to do this one, and I'm so glad she did! :)
Using a borrowed machine, because mine is in need of repairs, I made many shawls (13 in all) that were to be for Christmas, but I didn't get them done till just a couple weeks ago.
Ages ago, I promised pics of my parents finished quilt, and finally I'm able to show you what I was able to complete for Christmas - a project that has been in the making for several years. My sister-in-law and other members of the family have pitched in to help put this together, but the last week of Christmas, I was able to back, quilt, and bind it before seeing them Christmas afternoon. But, dummy me - I forgot to take pics, so I wasn't able to show you! I alway do that! I finish the project, then rush it off to the person I'm doing it for!
So, here is my mom and I with Esther my niece showing the front....
Here's Mom and Dad showing the back. I ran out of the main fabric, so I used left over to make a cross. They loved it! Christ is their life and joy, so it turned out to be a nice touch....
I'm amazed how much my mom looks like my grandmother. My Gram died at age 74, and both my parents are now 78. I'm so blessed to have them around and doing relatively well, too! :)

I've read several blogs that mention they've completed their first quilt in 2o1o. I had hoped to be able to announce that this post, but I'm afraid I've run into some snags, so all I have are quilt tops completed, and one quilted and bound for 2010. Not too bad, but I feel so slow! I keep trying the approach of doing just a little each day instead of hours on end. It's hard for me to stop once I get going.
I have so much more to show you, but I'll post them later on...hopefully sooner than I have been! I have jury duty today, so my mind is a little distracted. Pray for me!
I pray God's sweet blessings upon each of you!
Chrissie
1Thes 5:1-11
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
